Accurate
Can people trust what the QMS tells them?
A QMS is only used when people believe it. If content lags behind how work is really done, employees quietly build their own version of the truth.
QMS Value Diagnostic
A QMS should be one of the most valuable and widely used reference sources in your organisation. This five-minute diagnostic shows how much of that value you are currently realising, where it is being lost and what to improve first.
Your diagnostic is completely confidential. Your answers, your dimension scores and your QMS Value Score are yours alone. They are not disclosed to anyone, including Triaster staff, unless you choose to share them. When you save your assessment we are told only that someone has started a diagnostic, together with your email address, so that we can send you your private link. Nothing about your answers is included. If you later ask for a consultant interpretation, your result is shared with a senior consultant at that point and only then.
This is not an ISO 9001 conformity assessment, a certification-readiness check or an audit. It examines something different and, in our experience, more consequential: whether your QMS is trusted, useful and used.
A QMS creates value when people can trust it, find what they need, understand it and use it as part of everyday work, and when enough people use it often enough for that to matter. Those conditions give us six things worth measuring, and the diagnostic scores each of them separately, because the remedy for one is rarely the remedy for another.
Can people trust what the QMS tells them?
A QMS is only used when people believe it. If content lags behind how work is really done, employees quietly build their own version of the truth.
Does the QMS answer the important operational questions?
Coverage matters more than volume. End-to-end processes, handovers and the connections between policy, process and record are where value is won or lost.
Can people understand and apply its content?
Content written for auditors rather than for the people doing the work creates effort without benefit. Clarity is what turns information into action.
Can people reach the right answer quickly?
If the correct answer takes more than a moment to reach, people stop looking. Findability is the difference between a library and a reference people rely on.
Is using the QMS part of everyday work, management and decision-making?
The strongest signal of value is habit: managers pointing to the QMS, teams using it during change, and leadership looking at evidence that it is used.
How many people use the QMS, and how often?
Value scales with reach and frequency. A QMS consulted by a handful of people a few times a year cannot influence performance, however good its content is, so breadth of use, regularity of use and whether use is measured all matter.
Step 1
You say how true each statement is of your organisation today, from “consistently true” to “not true”. “Don’t know” is a legitimate answer, and we treat it as something to establish evidence for rather than quietly scoring it in the middle.
Step 2
The questions rotate through all six dimensions, so your QMS Value Profile takes shape from the first answer onwards. A provisional score appears as soon as every dimension has one answer.
Step 3
At the end you get your three greatest value opportunities, each with a practical first action, a suggested owner, a timescale and the evidence that would show improvement.
Part-way through we ask for your work email so your answers can be saved and a private link sent to you. You can leave and return at any time, and revise answers afterwards. Marketing consent is separate, optional and off unless you choose it, see our privacy policy.
Each dimension is scored out of 100 and the overall score is their equally weighted average. The bands below describe what a score usually means in practice.
| Score | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| 0–24 | Very little QMS value is currently being realised |
| 25–44 | Significant QMS value is being lost |
| 45–64 | The QMS is delivering value inconsistently |
| 65–79 | The QMS provides a useful foundation with identifiable gaps |
| 80–100 | The QMS is widely trusted, used and contributing to performance |
A score reflects your own assessment rather than an independently verified position, which is exactly why it is useful as a starting point for a conversation with the people who own the work.
Enter the email address you used and we will send a fresh private link to your saved diagnostic. For your privacy, we never show a saved assessment on the strength of an email address alone.
